
17-year-old Filipino rhythmic gymnast Jasmine Altea Ramilo has recently amazed the sports world by winning a gold medal and two bronze medals at the Olympia 74 Cup International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria on February 2. Competing in the Elite Senior Category, Ramilo delivered outstanding performances in the hoop, ball, and clubs events.
Ramilo, based in Italy, was under the guidance of her coach Claudia Mancinelli from Ginnastica Fabriano. Hailing from Santa Catalina, Ilocos Sur, she represented the Philippines as the sole athlete from the country at the prestigious event. This victory has added to her already impressive accomplishments in the sport.
In the words of Ramilo, "I am thrilled to have brought honor to our country through this win. It is a result of hard work, dedication, and the unwavering support of my coach and team." Her achievements include a gold medal at the Maribor International Rhythmic Gymnastics tournament in Slovenia and a bronze medal in the 19th Junior Rhythmic Gymnastics Asian Championships in Manila.
Looking ahead, Ramilo is gearing up for the Sofia World Cup and the Baku World Cup in 2025. The Philippine Sports Commission and the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines have expressed their pride in her accomplishments and offered their best wishes for her future competitions.
